Arrow Virgin oil analysises for 7 synthetic 5w-30 oils from P.Q.I.A. :

Go here . http://www.pqiamerica.com/March2013P...dpagefinl.html . You click on the bottle for more details and closer image . May go with the ULTRA for next oil . There's a rebate on the Platinum and Ultra , http://www.pennzoil.com/promotions/ . Some Wal-Marts have the 5 quart jugs of both marked down . It's $26.95 for the ULTRA and $22.47 for the PLATINUM . You do the math and very good prices with the rebate(s) (2 per household ) .

I am currently using Ultra in my Yaris now and I like it. Does the jug from Walmart count towards this promotion or does it have to be the 5 individual bottles?

The Ultra looks nice, but why does it not meet the ILSAC GF-5 standard?

Seems that M1 Extended meets higher standards then the Ultra.

Althoe Pennzoil states it keeps pistons cleaner.

In many years of wrenching, the most dirty engines were always engines with pennzoil. It's taken them a long time to make a top grade oil.

I'll stick with M1, as they have always made a quality oil, even before oil sales became a large profit item.

In all fairness, if I did not have 4 gallons of M1, I'd give the Ultra a try.

Yes , the ULTRA and PLATINUM are S.N. / GF-5 . Here are the Technical Data Sheets for them . The ULTRA from May 2012 ( http://www.epc.shell.com/Docs/GPCDOC...1207271342.pdf ) and the PLATINUM ( 0w-20 of 12/2012 , http://www.epc.shell.com/Docs/GPCDOC...1212050515.pdf and 0w-20 plus other grades from 4/2011 , http://www.epc.shell.com/Docs/GPCDOC...1202271153.pdf ) . You'll notice some changes to the Platinum 0w-20 . Could compare the Ultra and Platinum 5w-30s' V.O.A.s at P.Q.I.A..

Picked this up earlier . There's a rebate form attached to certain jugs of the PENNZOIL synthetics . Plan to take the PLATINUM back to get the ULTRA 5w-30 and send in the form for that . Might get another ULTRA 5w-30 that hopefully has the rebate form and run 2 consective oil chages with that and get an U.O.A. in early spring of 2014 . Using the PLATINUM 0w-20 ( http://www.epc.shell.com/Docs/GPCDOC...1202271153.pdf of 2011 T.D.S. ) in the 2011 FIT . Has over 7,500 miles on the oil . Will use the P.P. 0w-20 for next oil interval and possibly get a sample of it for a U.O.A. ( 2 consecutive fills ) . Rebate makes the PLATINUM $2.49 a quart and the ULTRA $3.39 a quart . That's if the rebate(s) is/are honored . I think this excludes the 0w-20 .

It's S.N. . Stated on the jug that was purchased . Click on the pic of the bottle(s) at P.Q.I.A. and you'll see the S.N. / GF-5 stated . Not sure where you got that from , but it's wrong .

There site, but I guess it's out of date.

Thanks , found it at B.I.T.O.G. ( BobIsTheOilGuy.com ) . Hopefully , they'll do some tests for synthetics of 5w-20 and 0w-20 . They also have results of a few A.T. fluids .
