GROUP BUY - Megan Racing 4-1 Header...

Since the initial GB was cosmetic, this next GB will be about performance!!! I've been able to secure a GB with Megan Racing on their unreleased Yaris header which will fit both the liftback and the sedan. The price will be $210USD via PayPal or $235CAD via Email money transfer. Pricing includes shipping direct to your door US/Canada. Each header comes with a no-hassle 1 year warranty.

We need a minimum order quantity of 10 pcs, and I think that we'll leave the GB open until November 1, 2006. Payments can be made to my paypal account, after the GB closes I will transfer funds and we should receive the parts by the 1st or 2nd week of December 2006.

-----===== UPDATE =====-----

Alright here's the news that I promised.. I know that we had a hard time getting to 10pcs.. however MR says that if we can put together a 20pcs GB that we can lower our cost to $190 USD via PayPal or $210 CAD via Email Money Transfer. Remember pricing includes shipping direct to your door US/Canada. Each header comes with a no-hassle 1 year warranty.

We need a minimum order quantity of 20 pcs, and we'll extend the GB open until Monday November 20, 2006. If we don't hit 20 we're stuck at the original price, but I think that we can make it cheaper for all of us!!

Any additional import taxes, duties, and brokerage fees where applicable, are the responsibility of the buyer.

***Upon request parts can be marked as replacement***

Megan racing headers

- 4-1 (1 piece)

- Mandrel bent tubing

- CNC Machined Flanges.

- T-304 Stainless Steel with Polish finish

- Direct bolt on, gain more performance due to more air flow

- Projected 4-6 HP Gains

Good point. Any idea what this one does to the torque curve?

4-1 ones usually will yield good top end gains, while little if no bottom end gains compared to a 4-2-1 design. should not loose power down low though.

My questions:

Being as thats only the prototype, how soon after the GB ends, will it be in my hands?

Are they using the stock cat / resonator / muffler for their testing, or do they also have a complete header back system?

What kinda of warranty will they provide?

Thanks RICE!

personally i'd wait for a dyno graph to see the actual curves compared to a stock dyno. I'd like to see if power is gained throughout the entire rpm range or if in some places(up top). Also woul;d be curious to see if power drops in certain places. The focus on yaris's should be to improve mid range power since these motors do not make high numbers in hp anyway.

In general, 4 cyl engines don't experience torque losses due to header alone... the only reason there should have been any torque loss was if something was installed incorrectly, there was a leak, or due to the intake. You probably won't see any real low end gains however, and high end gains will be minimal unless used in conjunction with a better flowing exhaust and intake. In short, header alone isn't going to net you much improvement, it's meant to be used as part of a well tuned intake and exhaust system.

Hey guys,

Just some answers to questions that I've been asked... MSRP hasn't been set on this unit as it's not on the market yet... but the guys at MR assured me that we're getting a really good deal.

As far as gains go there shouldn't be any loss in low, mid, or high end but there are no dyno numbers yet. They're anticipating that it will be 4-6 hp minimum and as others have said probably in the high end of the rpm band. With larger diameter tubing and equal length in the tubes things should really be opened up.

The product should be in our hands by the first week of December, the units should be arriving in California by the end of November. The warranty is one year and is a no-hassle warranty as stated by the MR guys.. they've basically advised that if there are any problems that they will troubleshoot and/or replace depending on the situation.

Everything used with the MR 4-1 Header is stock and they currently have a header installed and running on their project car, there are no plans for a mid-pipe as there are too many sensors and cats to work with. The only other planned add-on is an axle back exhaust which is still under development.

Other than that the following are answers to PM questions...

1) Will O2 Sensor's bolt right up?

Yes

2) Will the header include new gaskets?

New gasket and donut

3) Will it bolt up without additional modification?

No mod needed

4) Will they be C.A.R.B. certified?

Won't get carb certified, otherwise the price will go up double

5) Where will they be shipped from? The states or Canada?

Shipped from California, no pick up is allowed as MR is a distributor and doesn't do any retail from their offices
