Alignment Job

Hey im gonna go get an alignment job this weekend, I was wonderign what prices did you pay for yours? should i go to the dealership, mom n pops garage, or franchised place? Thanks guys

I was wondering the same thing about alignment. I really wouldn't want to go to the dealer for sure. Not with aftermarket parts. A shop would probably be a bit confused since the factory specs aint gonna work anymore.

I'm just watching my tire tread for now.

Big o does most of my stuff. I have had the oil changed and the tires rotated at the dealer and they havent said anything about the intake or the lowering springs.

my thing is....what specs will they align to? the factory specs are out the window once you lower the car right? I'm sure they will still service the car but I would think a specialized alignment shop would be required to get it done right alos how do you know your not getting ripped?

I paid $35.00 at a good tire specialist after putting my springs on. My mileage went up some too. I wonder if the alignment may be slightly off from the factory... I watched him do it and he said it needed a slight toe-in adjustment.

Uuuuuuh... I think so. When I asked them if they could do it the first answer was no, then the guy said yes he had the specs. I told him I lowered it so I don't know if that would negate the factory specs. He drew a white line on the wheels and spun them up. I'm no alignent expert, but he looked like he kew his stuff. Plus my friend is works there and I've actually had a few beers with the alignment guy before.

I have a friend who thinks that malt liquor makes you more violent than just drinking beer... I think he might be right...

alcohol is alcohol and it effects people differently but it may be similar to feeding dogs gun powder or hot pepper, something that taste like hot shit and fucks with your insides ---I guess could cause you to be a bit ill tempered

Pretty sure that factory specs are what you want. The reason for alignment after changing springs is, the car possibly gets away from the factory specs with the installation, for daily driving and tire wear you want to maintain it. Of course fine tuning for racing may not be the factory specs....but that's for the racers to thrash out, cause they don't always agree, thats why they call it fine tuning.

With the stock wheels on mine lowered I didnt see any abnormalaties or feeling the car getting away from me. With the old tires I had on it ever since I got it the dealership said it looked like normal and even wear.

well, I installed tein basics and took it for a test drive, the car felt absolutly fine and I tried slamming ont he brakes, stopped straight

I thought by altering the suspension then factory specs went out the window but apparently ride heigth has nothing to do with alignment, that's interesting, I'll watch my tread for a while, the car is handling fine, would be an excuse for a tire upgrade if they wear uneven

I've got over 8,000 miles on mine since changing springs (no alignment done) and tire wear and handling are fine. Yaris must have good alignment throughout the suspension travel! Milage went way up afterwards...but could have been from more air in the tires and finally beaking in also.

Put my springs on at about 10,000 miles and now I have over 30,000 and still drives straight as an arrow. I just had new tires put on like I said before and the dealer said I had even tread wear and everything looked fine. He didnt even notice the aftermarket springs.
