AUX button

hey guys,
i've seen a few pictures of interior yaris where they have this AUX button located in the middle under the e-brake..
i've asked the dealerships here for it but they don't know what i'm talking bout..

i was wonder if it is a Toyota part? or something you picked up somewhere?
if its a Toyota part, would you mind telling me what is the part number??

it would be really helpful..

thanks!
Robert

It's part of the Convenience Package and the Power Package here in the US.

ok so i went and asked the dealership.. they said its a part that isnt avaiable in canada.. (of course..)
anyways, would anyone mind telling me what is one the other side of it?
like is it just there to connect two audio cables for a cleaner look? or does it already have a cable/wire hookedup to it that runs to the deck??

thanks

The repair manual calls it a "stereo jack adapter". Maybe try to post in the classifieds for someone who has swapped in an aftermarket stereo and would give you theirs. Once you swap in an aftermarket HU it becomes useless.

let me ask you something, if you get one then what, does your stock radio have the proper connections for it ?

and for the part number go talk to the bodyshop people, they have books with pictures and part number etc...

Hey, Robert did you have any luck finding this info? I bought my Yaris back in September thinking I was going to get the aux jack, only to find out it's not available in Canada. I'm in Calgary too. I've tried and returned about 5 different fm transmitters but they all sound like s**t to me. I'm seriously thinking about getting the iPod adapter, but $355.00 installed is so much!

AUX connection is THERE, even if you didn't purchase it with convenience or power

I saw a picture of a guy who popped off the plastic tab where his AUX cover was supposed to be if he got his car w/ convenience or power package, and underneath were the connections for AUX. Of course you need to finesse it to work, but I think its pretty cool that it was there.

Aux

From what I know, (because I have it) the aux insert is on the actual player itself. thats how mine have it. I know Ive seen people have it on their e brake tab but I think thats like a aftermarket piece that you can buy.. but dont quote me on that Im not sure. Anyway I was thinking of doing that my self because when you connect the aux cable on the player it looks ugly just floating like that.. it looks messy.=/. I got mine here also in Calgary!

Weird, I have a '10 sedan with Integrated stereo and the Aux jack for the stereo is in the right cubby hole on passenger side of console. By the E-brake is the button for traction control on/off, and behind it is a non used cover which I always wondered what it is for. Nothing in owners manual. I thought maybe it was for fog light switch at first, but you guys say the Aux input is there on your cars?
