built motor swap [pics]

7/1/09
Got the stock motor out. From the top.

I figured I'd start a new thread for the install of the built motor, tuning and dyno results.

Note: We're installing TRD motor mounts and Beatrush trans mount ("rollstopper") with the new motor.

i remember when i replaced the engine in my other yaris. i just dropped it out the bottom instead of taking the whole front clip apart. but i have a buddy that runs the auto craft shop on the army post so i had free run of it for as long as i needed it.

fully sleeved, Pauter rods, CP pistons (9.5:1), ARP head studs, ported/polished head, springs.
I don't think we enlarged the valves yet.

It's weird to say a gaping hole looks good, but somehow this one does

7/10/09 updates.

Built motor is pretty much in. Hoping to have it fired up next Thursday. I have one more major goodie on the way and we're waiting for that to button it all up.

pic 1: I had some brackets made to hold down the pencil coils. Art's design.
pic 2 & 3: you can see the TRD motor mount on the left.
