So this is the same motor, you just made changes to it when it was out of the chassis? What do you expect it to be putting out now?

If you went this far, assuming then this si the same motor, why not put in a different one? :P

Please inform me, seems very interesting. Especially since the car lacks torque.(feels like 20HP when its 80degrees or above with the AC on)

He built another motor on the side and swapped it in. I think he'd be putting down in the rage of 270-320hp.

Not sure why he didn't put a different one ;) There is also something amazing about building the motor that the car originally came with. Its easy to go buy another motor and throw it in and make more power but its a challenge to build the stock motor to make power.

I can't speak for Garm but i am sure he's pretty stoked to see what kind of power he can put down.

Way to go Garm. Can't wait to drop by the shop once the craziness at work calms down.

The thing is going to be heeee-lariously fast. I can't wait to see it. You've got all the proper supporting mods, too. Basically the blueprint for the US version of the Vitz Cup car... only we apparently do it better.

Congrats, you will have the most powerful (1.5+ a little) Yaris in North America if not the World.

I don't think we enlarged the valves yet. [QUOTE]

What valve springs did you use on this garm? I could find any info on them on the built motor thread

very nice, that should be awesome when it is done. Will this be driven often or just a dedicated track car? And what kind of life span will be expected from this engine?

The new one is 19 lbs, 14 oz. with the housing and fans. Probably gained a few pounds with this swap.

I only got back the stock core (seems to be missing all the plastic parts), so it's difficult to compare. Also, I'm not using a/c so there are no brackets/clips for the condenser with this configuration.
