New to the forum

Hi Guys & Gals,

Im a noob to the forum, based in the UK and just taken delievery of my New Yaris this weekend, Im gutted to see the pecs you guys have available!!! there is only 3 spec available here in the UK with 3 engines!

1.0 petrol, 1.3 petrol and 1.4 diesel!

And there aint no RS spec! in fact at this time, no real "sporty" spec!. I took the Tspirit model, which is the "top" model here in the UK.

15" alloys, keysless start, keyless entry, cd/mp3 player, fogs all the jazz, but there is no body styling except the wheels and front lamps!. I used to have the pleasure of working for Toyota myself and my last car that I took was a Yaris T Sport, great little car.

Im hoping that I can be one of the first members on your site here from the UK and will post some images on of what the UK spec looks like, because I can see there are a number of difference! and I have to say, the toys you guys get on your look kewl!

Catch you soon

Welcome "Spookme". You'll find the specs of the Yaris differ a great deal even between Canada and the U.S.A. As for toys ...... the hottest stuff seems to be in Japan, but in Canada we do have an extensive list of mods from TRD that make life easier. The lowered suspension on my RS, was a dealer installed TRD option. Took only 1 day between ordering and installation.

It almost looks like your 3 door is shorter than the US spec 3 door.

Hmm

Possible I guess, but dunno!. Anyway for you guy that are interested, i have attached a copy of the UK spec, this came directly from Toyota Great Britain when I first wanted to buy the car back in Feb.

Take a look, lets see what the diffs are, this car has only just really launched in the UK and sales are not too hot yet, the problem is that until they launch a HOT model, or people like me get our hands on them and spec them up, the younger drivers just wont buy them!

Hmm it wouldnt attach! :(

Cool

It DOES look shorter, but that might just be the angle of the camera. I can't imagine there being two different bodies for a 3-door, especially when they went to the trouble of designing that centre instrument cluster.

Agree

Its unlikely that the body length is different, I have posted one of the other pics I took, but as you can see, here in UK its always bloody rainging, so my new car is filthy! roll on the summer!

So , about the centre console, you see what I mean about the digital display? this is all you get her ein the UK no other option and its the one thing Im not keen on with the car.

And Im desperate for that little boot spoiler, again, nothing available in the UK at the moment. Could you guy post the link for TRD so I can try and order some stuff please.

MPH

Yea its digital as standard here in the UK, there no option on it and as for MPH, at the touch of a button it changes to KPH! I only know this cos when i pisked it up, it was in KMPH and in the UK we still using MPH, so I had to ring them! lol So much for the PDI! lol

The UK, AUS and Japan Yaris is a bit shorter in length when compared to the North American Yaris because the bumper for the UK, AUS, and Japan Yaris is a little bit shorter. It doesn't pop out as much as the North American ones do. Just have a look at both of them from the same side angel and you will notice it. I personally like the UK, AUS, and Japan Yaris bumper better than the North American ones. It makes the butt look rounder.

welcome aboard, spookme!

yaris owner here in oz, mate. We don't have the 1.0L or the diesel variants here, only 1.3L and 1.5L. Looks like you have a trip computer (MPG) which we don't have. Nor do we have the keyless start. But we have the same digital cluster.

Oz specs are as follows:

YR:
1.3L petrol engine
tilt-only steering column
14" steel wheels with cover
standard seat trim
single-disc CD/MP3 player

YRS
1.5L petrol engine
reach- and tilt-adjustable steering column
leather-bound shift knob and steering wheel
15" steel wheels with cover
standard seat trim
single-disc CD/MP3 player with steering-mounted audio controls

YRX
1.5L petrol engine
reach- and tilt-adjustable steering
leather-bound shift knob and steering wheel
15" alloys
sports seat trim
6-disc CD/MP3 player with steering-mounted audio controls
fog lights
sports body kit and rear spoiler

Standard on all specs:
Power-everything
ABS with EBD & BA
Dual airbags
Keyless entry with engine immobiliser
3-door or 5-door
manual or automatic

Optional:
side, curtain and driver's knee airbags

No shite! Man sounds like the spec massivly different then.

Ok Yaris T Spirit full spec, but only cos I thought would be similar everywhere!

Front fogs,
Tilti slide steering wheel
Keyless entry
Keyless Start
9, yes 9 airbags( fronts, curtains, seat and knee)
CD/MP3
Electric Wind
Elecrtic Mir
Climate Control Aircon
15" alloy
Leather steering wheel
Leather Gear Stick Knob
Chrome intereior handles
Trip computer giving Average MPg and all that stuff
Colour coded mirrors and bumpers
ABs and somethign else
Power steering

hmmmm, i think thats it, I will try and compress the UK spec guide and upload it, I tired yesterday but its a little bigger than the forum permits, so i see what I can do.

Welcome, spookme.

I must admit that I really like the digital display; kinda makes the car look even more futuristic. Having a tach doesn't hurt, either.
