Cruise control in 2008 Toyota Yaris

I have a 2008 Toyota Yaris that does not have cruise control. I would like to install one since I do drive long distances and would like to save my ankle some stress. I keep hearing conflicting reports about it. Some say it is as simple as installing the switch behind the airbag, and others saying it's more complicated than that. I would like to know which is correct before I start doing anything.

Actually I'm the last poster in it.
I have a 2008 2 door HB, and I've installed a cruise control back in mid 2018 in preparation for my move from Maryland to San Diego. And I'll get to use it again when I move back hopefully next month.
I must say I'm really glad that I did. It wasn't hard for me, just took a lot of my patience. The most time consuming part for me was removing the entire dash, because I wanted to run the wires clean. The toughest part was undoing the bolt for the passenger side airbag, I didn't have a breaker bar or cheater bar, that thing was torqued down good, and ended up having a bloody knuckle. I did all of that to get to a round grommet on firewall by the passenger side. I sliced a cut to the center of it to pass the wires through. I didn't want to bother with the penetration where the major harness goes through, but that could also be an option.
Good luck!
