Don't use screws that are long enough to reach the radiator...

Cute guy's...real cute! HA. Is there a threaded "unit" behind the plastic bumper...the screws that came with the factory plate holder are self tapping

OK, my '10 LB front license plate screwed directly into the front bumper cover with self tapping screws. Mine came with screws that were long enough to go through a license plate frame, the license plate and the plate mount. It didn't look like there was even pilot holes originally. Kind of a cheap way to do it, but I guess that's what you get with an inexpensive car.

BTW, it seems like it would be very easy to strip the holes out, so be careful that you don't over tighten them.

i remember first picking up my yaris and the dealer screwed in the plate in front of me and I wasn't really all mad about it because I was never into cars until later on now it haunts me lol, I've seen the tow circle "thing" you pop out in the front and people modify it to fit a license plate, or I have seen the license plate attached with brackets that you screwed in from the bottom of the bumper, underneath the car.

Sure. Here are some pics on how they look. Basically i just made some small brackets, bend them, drill holes, cut some pieces from the grill in order to put them in and bolt them to the frame.

Granted any car looks better without a front plate.

However, IMO if you must have one, I really think it looks much better centered than off center like that. It just offends my personal sense of design and proportion.

But, like I said, it's just IMO.

I hear yah. Every car owner has the right to do what they want with their car. What ever you do to it some will like it and some wont. But as long as you like it that is all that matters.

That is why I put mine off centered so atleast I can be different with everyone else.

My car came with the bracket in the hatch (uninstalled)......even though we require a front plate I can't bring myself to drill two holes in the fascia. I haven't been pulled over yet, so until I do it's staying like it is.

Dude dont you drill holes on your bumper if there were no holes. If you do get pulled over just do what I did.

Or you can do what my roommate did. We bought our yaris the same day back in January 2008 and his car doesnt have a hole on the front bumper for the license plate. He doesnt want to drill holes so he just kept and leave the temporary dealer registration on the windshield. He never put the rear license plate either up to now and so far he's never been pulled over for no license plate. I guess cops still thinks his car is brand new. Lucky bastard I hate him. lol
