HELP! Removing manual window crank

Searched, and tried, but I can't get the stupid window crank off. I know there is a metal clip in there, and heard something about a "rag" trick. Putting tint on my girlfriends windows and although I was able to get the door panel off enough to get the tint on, getting the door panel back on with the crank still on there is posing a problem. Any help would be appreciated, especially if you can post pics.

Thanks!!

Slide rag between crank base and door panel, then move rag side to side. The clip should pop off, then you can pull the handle off.

Bend the end of a wire like a large paper clip into a hook. Push down on the door panel opposite the crank handle. You should see the clip. Hook the clip and pull it out.

Can't wait to go and try these tips. Going to finish the tint on the '09 and hopefully get started on the '07 today.

Popped mine off many times with the cloth trick. Got pics somewhere that I took but never posted for a speaker DIY.

I think my problem last night was the rag was too thick. I'll find an old t-shirt, that should work better. I'm used to the old cars that just had a cap on the crank, and a simple screw holding it on there.

I had an old supply of baby wash cloths around which happened to work perfectly. I hear ya about the old cap and screw.

they sell little metal tools that do the same if you're somebody that does this often... I still have mine... cost like $7 back in 2001 and I've used it probably 15 times.
