phew some elaboration was all i was looking for haha ....to simply say a 10sec yaris would be boring...with no reference to what it would boring compared to...ex:road course time vs drag strip time...struck me as odd. Point taken now though.

keep us updated, definitely would like to see how things work out for you. Make your own thread once you've got some progress, this thread is pretty much going nowhere.

you have enough posts for me to believe you.

I guess since this isn't in the FI Forum we can't talk about low compression pistons?

Sorry, totally forgot! I know there is a site out there that sells a rebuild kit for the 1NZ, and I want to say it was around 5 grand. 500 points to the first to find the link.

Well, that was for a setup that you could throw 25 psi at. THERE is your 10 second Yaris.

running 13:1 from 10:1, constantly, is quite a leap. I would think a lot would have to go into this, or else they'd ship the yaris at this level anyways-- no?
a kit like this would need prius grade rod, crank, piston, and head; at the least...anyone see any totalled prius's lately? ;D

not to mention the atkinson cycle engine tops out earlier, at a lower total rpm; running this setup in an otto cycle up to 6k rpms would probably push the mechanical limit of these materials

Post #20 seems to indicate that Prius pistons have been successfully swapped in and made a bit more power, but I can't tell for sure. Clarification from jouna on this point would be helpful.
