Sorry about the bump, but the video quality is great for a night recording. What were you recording with?

Sorry to hear about the accident Jonathan. I would definitely get the 3 quotes like Jason said then check the size of the check from insurance and then see your options.

What is going on with all our little cars getting hit from the back? I got hit last week by some guy not paying attention to the traffic in front of him. He slammed on his breaks, but got hit by a molester van, and then got pushed into me. I just got my haircut, car nice and clean, and was heading off to the Micro Image meet. Then "Corky" had to fucc up my grove. Luckily for me, my car only sustained a few small scratches. It looks bad in tho photos, but all that white stuff was paint from "Corky's" bumper that wiped off with some detailer. There's strong, and then there's Yaris strong!

Sorry about your bad luck.

Getting rear ended is a growing problem world wide.
Most likely a cell phone was involved.

Make sure the tabs on the fender/taillights/wherever else holding the bumper (not the tabs that's actually on the bumper) are not broken.

i probably wont try to fix it myself, the damage isnt localized on the bumper cover.

sorry to hear that Jonathan. Lucky you have that cam in the car, great investment when i showed my mom the video. I know it doesnt help much, but paying attention to when a car is approaching you from the rear, try to let off on the brake pedal and as the car is coming to a stop or coming in the rear, press the brake pedal, let off, then press again, to get the brake light's to do a hazard light simulation....
I usually do this just as a safety rule because i too was rear ended (minor) by a old Mercedes Benz...(all metal >_<) and the back bumper had a huge crease on it~

This is not possible to do here but - In Japan, when people are coming to a sudden stop, or have to hit the brakes suddenly..they turn on their hazards and turn them off after a complete stop to alert the rear driver....

^ Yeah, I'll pump my brakes if it looks like the car behind me is coming in fast.

I thought i was the only one that did that. I'm seriously considering doing the hazard thing...maybe next week and see how alert the driver looks through my rear tints...

^hahaha, I actually thought a lot of people did that, although I don't see too many doing it. hehe.

You can get one of those scrolling message LED boards and put it up behind your rear window and have it read/flash, "BRAKE YOU IDIOT." lol. That might piss them off tho. LMAO. But then again, it might act like moth to a fire and cause them to rear end you. Yeah, stick to pumping the brake and/or that hazard lights thing.

I'll let you guys know how the hazard thing works out...but dont do it when a cop is behind you.
