I thought about the doors too, but the glass gets in the way, too complicated for me, I'm going for kick-panels!

Ok, Auto TA and EQ was performed...

1.- The first time, I got an "ERROR SUB-R" right channel of the Sub? do I have to tel the HU that it's running Mono? SQcomp did you have this problem as well?

2.- Quick fix... I turned the SUB-Woofer off and performed the test again.

3.- The HU- P99 did it's magic specially with Time-Alignment, even though the 7 Drums test and the other front stage tracks are not perfect, but much better than what I had before. Maybe it has to do with how I placed the 3" Mids. Makes me think... should I go Off-Axis ?? but... I'm very happy they way they are now!

4.- Impressions... BOLD the sound it's amazing, kind of put the vocal right in the center and stage is much higher, I can tell this by going back and forth with my previous settings.

5.- Auto SQ brings music alive and in a 3Dimentional way.

6.- My mids and tweets sound great! (Hertz HL-70 and HAT Legatia L1v2) now I do understand where is the difference when using better quality speakers, my Mid-Bass and Woofer (Hifonics Zeus 6.5 and 10" BACHUCKA) really need an UPGRADE!

Time to get a Box for the IDQ12, and start making Kick panels for the HAT Legatia L6s. Yeah! the 6.5 Zeus sound Ok, but the the doors suck! is that when you say..."sound muddy"? or to me kind of Hallow, it just doesn't sound good, like SQcomp mentions above...

"We have nice big doors...for some reason, even if fully deadened, the doors don't perform as well as some other cars."

I'll show some snap shots of the settings before and after for Time-Alignment and cross over points. It's very interesting to see how music/sound performs withing the interior of a car...

Glad to hear its moving along D. I'm gonna wait till I get my deadening I think, to see what can be done...if anything about making a cabinet of the door. It may be odd shaped I know. And in reality, how much room to I need for a cabinet for a 5-6 inch speaker. I think I'll research this!

Thanks,

Keep in mind most of 5-6.5 drivers are Free Air, (IB) infinite baffle. Look for a specific sealed or vented box. I've been there too.

The deck wants to see all channels in stereo. I had to switch my sub's 2.9 from mono to stereo. Try something like this first. If nothing else raise the gain just a little. The mic might not be hearing the woofer.

Our doors might actually be too big, perhaps. It's strange. One of my friends at the sound shop put in some 6.5" mids in his Legacy's doors...and they are some of the fastest and impactful mids I've ever heard. His doors are deadened even less than mine. I'm still a little baffled by it. I'm REALLY glad I didn't hack up my doors for my L8's!

CA-There used to be a DIY for the headliner...I took my DIY off the site. I'm not sure if Derick has taken his down.

The purpose of the matting is to reducs vibrations and absorb sound.

I'm guessing you are talking about MLV?

MLV= Mass Loaded Vinyl

12"x12"x1/8" = 1 pound same as lead

It's a "Sound Barrier" to prevent road noise come into the cabin.

LINK for more info.

Thanks I'll try bumping the gain up, I don't think my amp lets me go stereo.

Thank you!
I'm still working on it, I'm starting to get/build a box for the 12" sub and figure out how to build the kick panels for the L6s

D,

You know you can holler at the boys at the shop if you want some insight for a box. I know we just made a vented box for two of the DD 1508's that will make your ears bleed with 1200 Watts (okay, maybe not bleed). The sealed applications are much easier though...AND they already have a Yaris sedan to model a box on! Also on the kicks, if you're using the same general space as I am, look at the sub frame holes by the front wheel wells.

Oh, a tease for you, I'm laying down a frame, fleece, and glass for my new sub enclosure. I'm flipping the sub to have the magnet out in the center of the trunk. That Mille's magnet is SECKS! We're also putting a whammy 60 Ampere power supply in the Yaris for shows.

Hertz HL-70 are around $180

Legatia L1v2 sell for around $220, I got them at DIYMA in the Classified section for a lot less than that. (o:

Thanks I know, what I'm looking now is for a set of rings for the L6s so I can install them flush!

For the kicks, the sub-frame down the floor, right?

Quick, vague question. Just an opinion. going between a kenwood 2 channel amp or Pioneer both 60 watt . Think a pioneer would work better with the Pioneer HU I just bought or would it make any difference...I'm thinking sound quality wise is all.

^ Not at all between those brands.

D,

Here's what the passenger's kick looks like under the stock panel:

Here's the same area with the wiring bundle relocated:

Whoa! Tons of room for a speaker!
