Liftback with XM Satellite Radio

Almost couldn't find a place that would work for mounting my Sky-FI 2 receiver. It's not where I would have like it to be as a first pick but it is out of sight. Drilled only one hole for wire access into the one compartment.
Used a 6' stereo mini plug to connect it into the AUX port.
Works better going line-in rather than FM transmitter.

XM is sweet, but an iPod and a giant collection of stolen music would be sweeter.

a ground-loop isolator should fix any alternator noise...a whirring like sound... also, running your aux wires away from any power wires should fix that too

It is hard to keep the power seperate from the audio cable on most sat. radios because they usually plug in beside the power to the unit. I just ran mine fm mod with a wired modulator and it works fine. That plus I have my ipod running in the aux.

wait, you have Sirius and XM and you don't have a little money for a loop isolator? also, keep your wires as short as possible... or use better shielded ones

I was thinking of doing that but with the compartment behind the steering wheel. It would be nice to hide it some place. Can you show (or tell us) how you routed the wire along the window seal and actually got it into the car?

The antenna wire for the XM is very thin. There is enough room just behind the windshield rubber seal to slip it just behind it.
Using something small and non-scratching, you can lift the rubber up just slightly and slip the wire behind it, then feed the wire all the way around and down to where the piller/fender joint is.
Ron the wire through that joint and then slip it behind that black plastic triangle on the side that is next to the side mirror (when the door is closed).
I then ran it under the door trim moulding under/behind the passenger glove box and in.
I had to drill one access hole to gain entry into the upper glove box.
The lower glove box will pull out at the top when you grab the two ends with catches together and squeeze just enough to get the "stops" through.
Then, the box just lifts off and "unsnaps" from the hinge.
Tons of room to work under there and also secrure your excess loose wires.
Be mindful of your airbag parts.
Finally, I put a small piece of duct tape on the door jamb where the wire sits (very small exposed area) for proctection.

Hope this helps/gives you the idea.
