electric kit

It would be great if someone could take a small or medium size front wheel drive
and remove the entire drive train and install an electric kit that has battery and a 1000cc
engine set up as only a generator. No mechanical drive to the wheels. There is the issue of power steering and AC .... Do you think there will be packages like this soon for an affordable price? I would consider it worthwhile if I could do it with only my labor for under 5K.

There was a company at SEMA this year that offered electric motors for the rear wheels of FWD vehicles to make them AWD.
