Free VW

Well as some of you may know I just scored a free 1972 VW Beetle. I'm trying to pick a direction for this project. I'm going to run a pole to get some feedback from all of you on some of my favorite looks for a Bug. I'm an old school rodder that loves offroading. I also love unrestored with lots of patina, but nothing beats the sano look of clean Cal look custom. So give me some input. Thanks guys!

Volksrod all the way. Chop the top, buy some flat black paint and go to town!

I'm assuming free means... worth every penny of "free".

And thus: http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/

Free as in "Dude do you want a rolling car with no engine with lots of extra parts for the sum of ZERO dollars".

Perfect LeMons car. "Free" leaves you with $500 to come up with a running engine, and sort the suspension and drivetrain. LeMons rules classify almost everything else as "safety equipment" which is not budgeted.

Of course, the car has to be ugly enough that the judges will believe that someone actually GAVE it to you.

Not on a clean rust free body, if it were a beater than yes.

^Too predictable

VolksRod FTW, though I would also chop the bottom tip of the hood to reduce drag

Baja for sure.. I get so jealous every time I see one. Sure the other choices look pretty, but can you go tearing off road in them?

Of all of the options you all love the most expensive.
At least than I could put a V-8 in it.
