SO, since anybody's got their new wheels have they noticed a reduction in acceleration because of the bigger wheels?? I'm just asking because I'm trying to decide what I should get. THNX!!!!

Have your stock wheels weighed and then compare them to an aftermarket set. They make all kinds of lightweight wheels and I know the tires for 17's and 18's are pretty light in a low profile tire. I am going to be putting on a pair of Axis Maglites that weight like 14 pounds a piece. There are all kinds of light weight wheels out there.You just have to find them.

So that's the weight I should be looking for, about 14 to maybe 18 pounds a wheel? Sorry, I'm a wheel newb, I just know what looks good lol

I've found the pickup to be a little less peppy than with the stock RS wheels which are only 15".. A more important thing to note is that I've found the car to be a lot sloppier with the braking... those little brakes just don't do the job... I can only imagine how it would be with 18, 19 or 20's.......

im supose to buy 17 inch mag wheel.. with this u need to have a bigger tire... and it slow then the speed.. if u were 100kmh with the normal 175/65r14 with new tire like 225/45r17 would be like 92 kmh

with a 17 inch rim, you can still end up with the correct tire size...

I have 18's and the little problem is the breaking system. I'ts just take a little more to stop the car. Maybe 17's is the right choice, looks better, also with 18's you can't drop more the Yaris. It's your choice...

Those are 18's with Dunlop 215/40/18. Ohh ,one thing, don't take wide rims, Their going to rub when you take a U turn.

Yeah it's important to get the right tire/wheel combo to ensure that the speedo isn't put off. Check out this guy, he's rolling on 20's w/ rubber bands attached... but even he states that he can no longer turn full lock to full lock...

so 17 should be good.. cuz i want to put the toyota drop .. with 17's
maybe ... who know the bigger size of tire possible without friction in the wing? cuz i dont want a big space between the tire and the wing ;p

Here is one of the best tire calculator sites i have seen. It gives you almost every dimension on the old tire to the new one so you can compare. Just put in the stock tire and new tire size and it gives you all the needed dimensions. Also watch the offset on the rim. I think someone said it needs to be a +35mm to +40mm for good fitment.

I have read many people say that 215/40 in a 17 in. tire with a 35-40mm offset is perfect. I know that is what is on the wheels I am getting ready to put on as soon as I figure out which lowering kit I am going to use.
