Help needed! Changing wheel/tyre size will it rub with this size??

I need help, I have a 09 Yaris YRS sedan sitting on stock tyres at the moment size 185/60 R15. Wanting to change on new rims sizes 205/40 R17x8. Will they have a good fit with no sidewall rubbing or anything like that? By the way stock suspension is installed still.

As far as I've seen in other threads the rule of thumb for wheel sizes (diameter) is to keep it under a 3% variation from stock... So calculate your old and new diameter and see if it's according to the rule of thumb... if not, it might rub but yeah... it depends on offset as well and I'm no expert ^_^

205/40/17's are too short for stock suspension. Go with 205/45/17's for an OEM fitment

So with either tire aspec ratio they'll still have a good fit or? Besides If I do have enough clearance with the 205/40/17 I'll probably lower the suspension by a few inches.

If you're planning a 2" drop, then go with 205/40/17's.
