Question Positive Battery Terminal

Hey everybody....

SO the positive battery terminal (the one with the black fuse box) the connector to the battery completely corroded off...so now I have no leverage to take it off.

I barely drive the car and live in Miami (no seasonal changes), so I did not even think of looking at the battery. I know it was not there the last time I changed the oil. But whatever...questions:

Any ideas on how I might get this off now to replace?

Next, how much do you think it will cost? Do I have to replace the whole black box or is it just the connector? Here are some pics on GDrive.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks everyone

With the corrosion I would definitely replace the whole black chunk. It runs about $25 from Toyota.

Uggh, I just found some corrosion on my car as well. Mine wasn't as bad as yours, but it looks like the previous owner tried to clean it up. Luckily I was able to clean it up with coke.

What's the black box for? Is there a fuse in there?

Yes. There are two fusible links built into the black part.

Baking soda and warm water mixed next time.
