Lift back pneumatic lifters
I have noticed that the pneumatic lifter joints on my hatch back are becomming a lot mor stiff and creaking more these days. Any suggestions on lube for these if i take them off..WD40? Anyone else notice this on their car?

The gas struts are affected by the cold and will not work as well when it is really cold.
You should not lubricate the shaft (particularly with WD40, which will destroy the seals). Gas struts have oil within them that both dampens them and self lubricates them. You can wipe off the shaft if it is dusty, but according to the manufacturers you should not lubricate them. The ball joints at the ends can and should be lubricated though.
