Weird acidic smell from vent

OK. I changed my cabin air filter 2 months ago so it is not that. I even took it out and visually checked it, too. It's not the smell coming from the cabin filter.

It is a very nasty and strong sweat + pee like scent that flows in whenever I turn my vent on. Smell is the same regardless of A/C being on or off (smells a little less bad when AC is on though) and regardless of re-circulation or regular airflow mode.

I have a short ram intake and I took a visual check on the outside of the intake filter and there's nothing. Now I am afraid if there's something dead somewhere inside my engine bay that causes this nasty smell..?

Any insight will be appreciated

There's quite a few threads on the stinky vent system. It's probably the same issue.

The stinky vent is a mold smell.

Coolant is the only "sweet/pee-like" smell I can think of. Check your coolant level, and all the lines coming out of the radiator for cracks or leaks.

Also, your intake goes in the engine and then out the exhaust. The A/C gets its air from the vents outside the windshield(or just inside for recirculate)

He mentioned sweat as in body odor or maybe he just misspelled sweet...

Look at TSB 0103-09 for HVAC odors-you will probably find this to be your problem. The evaporator is not draining properly for the ventilation system-leading to a bad smell. Parts are on order for mine
