Ordered some wheels, need advice on tires

I bought a set of these Sport Edition CD wheels from TireRack today. They will arrive on Wednesday from what Mr. Rush at TR told me. I just bought a bunch of parts for my 2nd M4 build, so it may be a couple of weeks before I can purchase some tires but I'd like advice on them anyway. I'm not looking for a particular tire, but I'd like to know what to look for in car tires (my previous vehicle was a Ranger [RIP old friend] and I just put whatever I could find on it) that will perform well in both wet and dry asphalt. During the winter we generally get torrential downpours from all the tropical storms and whatnot, but during the summer we may go 3 months without a drop of rain. If I could get tires that'd work well in both that would be great. I really don't know much about tires as I'm sure you guys can tell, but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What is your driving like? do you go for spirited twisty drives? do you want the car to handle well? Or just a tire that's going to last forever?

Does tire noise level matter?

Tread rating is an important piece of data. The higher number, longer life but worse handling, in general.

I generally run lowest possible tread ratings, but I like sticky tires and I don't mind if they don't last. 140 is the lowest, and lasts maybe 10k miles or so, at least for me.

Direzza star specs would be good, nice handling and good wet/dry performance.

Sorry for the late reply, server failures at work are keeping me busy.

I'd like some that last around 30k if possible. Handling isn't a huge issue but I'd like to be able to take 90 degree turns at around 25 without a lot of skidding. I'm generally a very conservative driver and don't start or stop quickly, but everyone gets in a hurry sometimes :D My current (factory) tires slide a bit if I take turns quickly, but for the most part they do alright. I'll look up those Direzza tires you mentioned, thanks.

Why didnt you ask this question before and order tires at the same time. Most likely will cost you more to bring those rims to a tire shop and buy tires through them and pay them to mount and balance them on the new rims for you.

Don't have the money right now, and I don't think I'll be self controlled enough to wait until I have $1k to blow. I'll end up buying another weapon of some sort if I let my spending money build that high lol.

Thanks! I went with Kuhmo ASX tires since they were available local. They ride really smooth :) They are 195/50-16s.

Okay. 195/50/16 is JDM OEM on the Belta.

Kumho ASXs are a very good bang for buck.

I would've gone to those from my previous ASTs, if I did not decide to get summer tires instead. Im running SPTs right now, and they are awesome.

More than enough grip for yaris I would say.

They definitely stick to the road well. My ride is a lot smoother also, not sure if these tires are just softer than the originals or if it's because they are bigger, but the bumps in the road don't shake the car as bad as they did with the stock tires.
