Just got my 2012 SE 5-speed manual
They are hard to come by, but I was able to get a silver 2012 Yaris SE 5 speed here in New England through Acton Toyota, Littleton, MA. Accessories included floormats, rear bumper applique, and body side mouldings. I wanted a center console but none are to be had here in US. Mudflaps don't fit the SE bumper either.
This car reminds me a great deal of my 1984 VW Rabbit GTI (also silver) or my 1997 Golf Trek. Small, zippy (but still slow), handles and stops well, and is generally fun to drive. The seats are very similar to vintage VW sport seats (same adjustments and fit). Also, with cruise control, power windows/locks, remote lock (but not keyless), built-in dashboard information display, and a very good bluetooth implementation in the radio, it has only the features I wanted and none that I didn't. Really want a center console/arm rest, though! Doug |

Congrats!
That car was on my radar but thankfully a white 5 speed SE popped up around here. I picked it up Saturday- loving it. |

Hey guys, I got mine..damn almost a month ago in white 6speed manual.
Nothing special on it though, yet! I ordered the black mat rims from Toyota, which I'm waiting for at least one or two week before I mount em up ( I'm currently on the ordinary rims you're suppose to have when you buy the car, in the Active package ) but I'm planning on installing the arm rest some time later, as well as the wing that is approved by Toyota, as well tinting my windows black! But I am thinking of tinting my wing later with carbon tinting, any thoughts on that? The multimedia display is really easy to navigate through ( the dealer didn't even have to show me how to use it, took me a few secs to master it, I ended up giving him the tutorial :p ) One thing is for sure, the car needs to get stiffer suspensions I feel like an old man driving in that so I'm waiting for the market to pick up and do some research on which is best suited :) |

Seems like just about every other country gets better options than the US. Toyota's revenge for us beating them back in WWII.

Update on 2012 SE 5 speed
I attached pics in the main sticky post for 3rd gen, but here is one. Now that I have over 3000 miles and 2 months in the Yaris, I can tell you a few likes and dislikes:
Likes: 1. Mileage. I am consistently getting 38-39 mpg in regular driving without any tricks. The 5 speed manual gets its best mileage in back road driving at intermediate speeds. I have a 9.5 mile commute to work on country 2 lane roads. I can get 40+ in this driving. Interstate driving at 70+ mph drops mileage to 36.5 to 37 mpg. 2. Seats and steerring wheel. Very comfortable. Unlike some folks, the position of the wheel and seats works fine for me. I don't need a telescoping wheel to get comfortable. I like the manually adjustable drivers seat, setting it all the way down, somewhat forward, and tilted back a bit more than my wife likes. 3, Handling. Very good. Great to throw into freeway exits and bomb back roads. I suspect a rear sway bar would help and I will think about that. 4. Shifting...smooth and easy. 5. Bluetooth - easy to set up, but a bit fussy to use. Wish it had steering wheel phone controls. 6. Overall features - Just perfect. Everything I need and nothing that I don't want. My wife has a 2011 Camry XLE. A significant number of the buttons are greek to me. Neither of us like the keyless ignition. And the 2010-2011 deluxe (non-nav) radio has an almost useless bluetooth. Dislikes - 1. NO armrest. The OEM console is useless. When the Armster.nl armrest becomes available again, I will probably buy one. 2. Power. The engine and driveline have freed up with 3000 miles. Mileage and performance have both improved, but the power is still minimal. Wish that an intake and exhaust system would help as much as it did on my 2005 GMC Canyon (at least 20 hp on that vehicle). 3. Hard plastic scratches easily. The black, hard plastic, rice pattern interior bits scratch fairly easily. Particularly the "door cards" and kick panels. Doug |

I was told by the dealer that only 1.5% of the 2012 Yaris' sold in the US have manual transmissions, so you were lucky to get one. I'm waiting for 2012 mudgaurds and an armrest, too. |

You should take a ride down to CT with it next weekend, so we can all get a closer look at a 2012. If you don't have cruise control, but want it, we can do the install:
