Lost coins through centre control panel
I had some coins sitting on the little shelf that's next to the climate control knobs on my Yaris hatchback and one of them (a $2 coin) slid through the crack where the two pieces of plastic meet (if you feel along the edge, you'll know which crack I mean). Well I pulled apart the control panel the way you would to replace the stereo and I noticed the coin would have fallen all the way down to the floor through there and is likely somewhere underneath the assembly where the automatic gearshift is housed. Is there any way to pull the centre console on the floor up to see where it went? I don't want the coin interfering with any movable parts.
Beware of that damned shelf! Another design flaw by Toyota! |

I've lost a dollar coin and a couple nickels myself down there a while back. I didn't wanna say anything because I figured it was my own fault for putting coins there . I guess Toyota REALLY wants us to use the change rack in the driver glove box lol.
Another guy here lost a quarter around the same time. He even posted pics of how he got got it out. All that work for a quarter

Here is something I wrote after my touch screen install. The first half is what you need I believe.

1997 yaris LE ?? i'm guessing you slid your fingers a bit too to the left :)
It's a good thing we do not have one of those old school style ashtray in our yaris anymore. You don't want to believe how many coins people drop behind those... |

Yes, I did go too far left. I'll get the coin back though. It's one of those things that I'm determined to retrieve, even though it isn't of large value.
