E85 Motor Build II

sorry for lagging..i finally completed the E85 conversion with ECU tuning..here are the list
-1JZ injectors (increase cc)
-E85 plug that goes behind 1JZ injectors
-Timing advance/ignition ECU
-Street tuned

**additonal mod before i had the E85 ECU tuning (recommanded by the ecu tuners)
-Header
-Center pipe
-NGK IX spark plugs
-C coded MAF sensor
-VVTI solenoid from RS Yaris/Vitz
-K&N drop in
im missing RS Yaris/Vitz Coilpack..

additional mod
-volt stablizer
-front top and rear low braces

my tires are spinning on every gear and brake pads cannot grip..FML..
some sticky Hankook tires and project Mu pads next week...

0-60mph time
stock: 12 sec
now: some where within the late 8 sec range..i think new set of tires can improve this issue..my butt dynos telling me i gained about decent 30-40hp from mod above..not WHP!!

future modfication
-sticky hankook tires
-project mu brake pads
-coilover or spring

How far did you advance the timing? You will definitely need to take it to a Dyno to confirm numbers. Saying that you think 30-40whp via butt Dyno is just plucking numbers out of the air.

i didnt say whp(whose going to gain 30-40whp without internals...i mean seriously, thats like 60bhp..lol), 30hp came from a friend of mine who had chiptuned same ecu and same tuner without any modification on dyno, i used the exact same set up and put inside my car. i guessed 10 from all the modification that i did without ecu

1jz injectors: $60
E85 converter: i think he gave it to me free
Chip: $200 (i wanted a brand called Racestreet that comes with 2 step and a gauge but its sold out everywhere, i just got any ecu with same software program as Racestreet ECU)
Tuning: dont remember but i remember giving him $50 tip
Spark plugs: $60 (IX)
C Coded MAF and RS Solenoid: i think about $60

need RS coils to complete the set up...

i dont consider it as serious power because its barely a stage 1 set up..the car is slow as hell, 110hp stock with vvti whining through out the rpm...

now it just became a decent passenger car

estimating 30% gains is pretty serious for these tiny engines, i'm planning on doing the flow mods including cams and only dream of getting similar gains.

JUN Cams? my dream.....my cousin have Vios(yaris sedan) with Jun Cams, full exhaust, E85 ecu tuned...car just jumps..

downside is i feel engine is idling loud or is it ticking? and very expensive.......

i got headers and center pipe done first before any other mod..yes, you do notice the gain
