By chance found this '12 sedan automatic at a dealer lot . Had some good dings and stratches on it . Interior was a bit rough as well . Looked to be from a recent car auction . Do like Silver for the sedan . Here are some pics .

The compact rentals in Belgium and France is the Citroen C3, the Yaris is a mid size rental. Everything above is a luxury rental.

The rental that I talked to the driver of was a liftback. The driver was bitching because their company gave them this "shitbox" instead of a real car. I replied that perhaps a shitbox was a good match for an apparent shithead. He didn't have much to say after that.

Enterprise = hubris (at least in Los Angeles, IMO). Go to Yahoo Autos and enter Toyota Yaris into the used car section. Use 92660 for the zip code (a Newport Beach, California zip code) and change the search radius on the little drop down menu from the default (50 miles i think) to 200 miles and do that search. Then click on the mileage header (this will change the results from ascending order to descending order). The result at the top = Enterprise in L.A. is selling a 2012 Yaris with 334,457 miles on it for $13,599.00.

I was driving South on the I-45 Feeder on the eastern edge of The Woodlands, TX earlier this evening. I came upon what is likely a new Avis Budget location (I've never seen it before). I saw 2 cars ready to go in their lot, an Aveo and a Silver 3rd Gen Yaris 3-door hatch. I wonder how widespread Yarii availability is within Avis Budget? Just the Houston Metro? Just Texas? Nationwide?

Our fleet is nationwide. That yaris will be on that lot today and in two weeks someone may travel to Georgia and leave it there.

Does that mean no 'other than original location' or 'out of state' drop off fee? Or does that mean you CAN do it (TX to GA for example), but subject to fees at any location other than where you rented the car? I know Enterprise can = high fees or sometimes interstate/different location not allowed (but I thought that = re franchised locations).

I have no idea, sorry. I'm a maintenance tech not a rental agent. I just know 1 in 4 cars I see has an out-of-state plate.

Quite interesting. Might be due to your location (proximity to Disney properties, etc.), but still quite interesting.

Especially a Yaris.

My statement has nothing to do with the quality of the Yaris (I love mine). But, I know how badly rentals are treated, and the cheaper the cars are the worse they get treated. And being most likely underpowered compared to the renter's normal ride, I imagine any rental Yaris will spend most if not all its time at WOT and being totally thrashed...

Especially the one I mentioned in post 25 on this thread. Anyone who buys that car, even for much less than the ripoff price Enterprise is asking, needs to have their head examined.

When I travel and request rental cars, the Toyotas are always out. One once did I ever get a Yaris and that was about 4 years ago in Phoenix. I have a feeling most people ask for a Toyota first and then settle for whatever is left over.

I think Toyotas are just rare as rental cars...
