Recommendations for Antennae replacement

I've been loading a fishing kayak on top my yaris for several years and the antennae has been beating up due to that. I'm looking for a replacement. I'm not sure i want to replace it with the same as the same thing will happen to it.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a short antennae, even an after market one will do.

thanks!

I too sought out a short antenna after encountering interference issues with snowboards and bikes on the roof. I suggest you Hit up eBay. There are tons of stubby antennas for the yaris at a fleabay price point. I've been running an antenna off eBay for over a year now with no issues. No difference in reception either, although some users have reported static reception when switching to a stubby.

I live in the city of Toronto and being surrounded by high rises my reception wasn't the greatest to begin with regardless of antenna set up.

No worries. I have a picture below of my antenna. It is perfectly level with the height of my roof racks.

oh and think of the fuel savings you are getting whilst removing the old whip. This thing accounted for at least 2-3 mpg gain ;p

I went with a color matched shark fin from Visual Garage. Looks like their site is engaged in weird behavior: http://www.visualgarage.com/home.html

I tried a stubby and had horrible reception problems. I drive far distances and radio reception would cut in and out as I drove thru hills and valleys. Switched back to stock and no more problems.

But I'm way out of the city for most of my driving. I need a bigger antenna.
