2007 sedan front brakes job questions

at 126K replacing the original rotors and pads
went with Bosch Quiet Cast rotors and Akebono ceramic pads
from Amazon who offer free shipping, a real plus for Hawaii!

original pads still have alot of meat on them and the sliders are likely having some restriction

My intention is to use the original sliders, cleaned up and lubed with Napa Sil Glide grease, unless they look really worn once dis assembled.
Would have replaced the sliders but no one has them locally, and the shipping hassle... Am I making a mistake here?

If ur talking about the caliper sliding pins ,just clean and lube/grease ..I use silicone grease ( less is more ) and silicone spray over that works amazing and last long time also make sure ur fitting kit is clean remove from caliper bracket and clean well under use antsize and and put all back together , for pads I use silicone grease too .
Make sure pins/ sliders are not rust pitted and rubber boots good shape.

Thanks Wolfman, the pads arrived today so I should be good to go.
Is it really important to use a torque wrench for re-assembly?
If so will have to borrow one. Someone probably posted torque specs
but have not yet found that info... Anyone?

Yes u could use a torque tool but honestly just tighten nice and snug for pin bolts as for caliper bracket they should be tight as for torque spec I would have to look it up.

Caliper mounting bolts are 25 ft lb.

I wouldn't sweat the torque rating for caliper bolts. A nice solid, snug level should do the trick. We have done it this way for many years in my house and never had any problems.

Now we did use the factory torque specs for big bolts like the strut bolts when we installed lowering springs etc..

^+1 My torque wrench doesn't get used very often, but I've been working on cars for over 30 years, so I can typically get within a couple pounds of spec by feel.

For caliper bolts, and many others that I know need to be good and tight, I just give them the old "double grunt".

U mean the bracket bolts 17mm one , 14mm caliper a good snug those u can snap if not carful .

Bracket. The sliders are just snug.
