I have been following this, as a buddy and I have been working on a hardwired OBDII interface for the iPhone. We decided not to go with WiFi, because embedded WiFi modules are way too expensive. Although now with the enhancements coming with iPhone OS 3.0, we may give Bluetooth a try.

The bad thing though, is that since Apple won't allow multiple apps to run simultaneously, if you answer the phone, check you email, etc., the app stops running for that period of time.

well i don't have an iphone, but i have the ipod touch. would i be able to play music while using kiwi?

it's a pretty neat app, i think.. it'd be something to show off with 8-)

Omg, its realtime updates. Not that 1sec delay crap that the scangauge has.

Music is the one thing that can run in the background, even with the iPod or iPhone locked.
