ac compressor bypass.

Well it seems the ac compressor is shut, I did the bypass with
the shorter w/o ac belt and installed it, went for a drive and everything
is fine. What about the wires connected to the compressor should
I disconnect those to?

I would imagine they only control the clutch on the compressor pulley... but I'm no pro.

Yes they only control the a/c to engage or not. You can likely leave them in tact without issue
