Meh. Those are probably his winters and he has the lock nut for his summers and just puts them on when he switches over.
Or someone has taxed his steelies in the past. Haha imagine? Coming out one day to find your honda accord propped up on blocks and your priceless "lightly used" steelies missing?! What a tragedy.

When I bought my Civic back in 2000, I remember talking models with them (LX, EX, HX, etc.) and locking hubcaps was a feature they were touting on the EX model.

Yes on my wifes Honda Accord Wagon (92) the lug nuts hold the hub caps on, an arrangement that no other makers choses to copy as far as I know.
So if the lug nut locks they cant get your hubcaps either. Course you cant get the hubcaps off without removing the wheel too.

Nothing really wrong with this. I believe all Mazda vehicles now come with lock nuts, even if you have hub caps.
At least, the 4 Mazda we have at work all came with lock nuts..3 of them have steel wheels and hub caps. Sent from my ONE A2005 using Tapatalk |

Horrors! (at least for me)
If you live in a place where wheels get stolen I guess you want lug nuts that need a special key to remove them. If not, and things like the special tool needed to remove the lug nuts have a habit of disappearing, you run the risk of not being able to get the wheel off in an emergency. Steel wheels being stolen? Certainly possible in maybe 5% of the State of NJ. This reminds me of my Yamaha FZ1 motorcycle, a 144 horsepower monster of a bike. Every freaking fastner on it was lock tighted in place. I mean every single one! Trying to loosen a fastner usually meant stripping the hex head. I guess they assume you have Snap On sockets and wrenches. All I have is Craftsman. I imagine Yamaha had a problem with one or two fastners coming loose and so decided to superglue everything together in the factory. A clear case of overkill.
