My Rides

Haven't done anything to the Yaris in a while so I thought I give everyone an update to what I have been spending my money and time on...

Latest project...

Family shot...

We have been getting some snow here in Reno, gone now, but it was sure fun when it lasted...

Looks like fun. A lot cheaper than modding the Yaris I assume. My friend just got a Traxxas RC car that goes 50 mph. I've been thinking of buying one myself. I've heard the Battery technology in them now is way better than 15 years ago (Lithium vs Nicad batteries).

hahaha, not if you go crazy. Bodies are like 20-40 bucks unpainted, then you need to paint it (cans of paint are relatively cheap). If you go with an electric and then go with a brushless and lithium set up, you're probably going to spend around 300-400 bucks ontop of the chassis. Tires and rims are like $30 (unless you get some cheap stuff).

yaris vs yaris race... which one are you putting your money on? (big one should go faster but the little one probably takes off quite a bit quicker)

Then you can also hop up the chassis. Most have options of CF and/or aluminum. Prices vary depending on the chassis. hahahaha. Quite expensive when everything adds up. hahaha.

If it's a nitro-rc, I'd put my money on it.

I love this stuff, way too much fun. I would say my Revo could go 60-70 if I did things right. I have it set for around 35 tops but it gets to top speed at around 10-15 feet. Enough torque for a standing backflip.

The white buggy, a caster fusion ex-1, i have geared for around 50 on 4s lipo, if any one knows what that means. So that would be the fastest out of the bunch.

If your looking for speed the E-Revo has a good rep for speed runs. Here is a vid of one going 90.

A guy got his buggy up to 100.

As for expenses I would say all together you would spend around 600 for everything you need to get started assuming you buy a higher end model but you can get a Traxxas Slash 4x4 for roughly 400 and it comes with everything from the brushless ESC and motor to the newer 2.4 ghz radio. Plus a battery and charger, but its a NiMH and overnight charger, most advance to lipo batteries quickly.

By the way Racerfreakxxx you had one hell of a yokomo set up. What happenned to it?

I ended up selling it because I needed the cash for bills or a computer or something like that sometimes I wish I had kept it.
