Changing the radio of a Yaris 2007

Hi

I just purchased a Yaris 2007

and i want to install a Alpine CDE 125BT radio in it,

Is this easy, the links i google´d up show a partial example of how to remove the radio but not how to connect it, also wiring seems weird and i have no idea what adapters and other kits i need, can anyone here who did this share their experience

Thanks so much!

Always Remember: A nice quick use of the search function on the forum will anwser ~99% of your questions.

Theres a sticky and a detailed DIY on how to replace the yaris head unit.

its really a rather easy job. getting to the unit is a breeze - the rest is connecting a few color coded wires (which is easy once you get started.)

the basic things you will need is
a Single Din Dash-Kit for the Yaris (look at the Stickied Post)
to fit the single din unit into the Yaris space

and the connector (or adapter) to connect the OEM wires to your new unit.

Do you already own the radio, or is that the one you want to buy?

we own the radio, we actually had it in a FIAT Pinto convertible, not we got this car in France, came with a italian manual, as is.

So far all we did was collect everything online, google, videos, PDFS, becuase last time i tried this with the pinto we ran into all kinds of missing details and i see allot of that everywhere on the yaris, we are not car experts so its either pay someone to install the radio or try to see if its something possible.

BTW we also tried posting over in the french Yaris forum and moved the thread from the general Yaris section to the introduction section demanding more details about me and ofcourse claims i posted a question they moved in the wrong section, i saved the first post in "READITLATER" with my iPad and it clearly shows it was posted in the YARIS GENERAL section, oh well, France.

^ how to dismantle radio

http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10195

^ what wires to connect what to.

all of the wires that come with unit kits are usually clearly labeled and usually match by color
worse comes to worse - can always refer to the link above
and install is a sinch.

no missing details.no headaches.and worse comes to worse - you can always post your problems here.theres too many of us with already swapped out head units.

just go for it is the most advice i can tell you.

thanks guys, they are arses in france, we spoke to a sales clerk at toyota for parts, my friend called to get the hours they where open, went there, when she walked in he greeted her, then asked what she wanted and instead of saying anything he cut her off and told her they where already closed, everyone knows this that they close in the parts section earlier when the one guy is on vacation and she was like wtf is your problem captain skinhead, she asked for the manager and it was him, talk about asswipes., they wonder why it was so easy to dump guys like the IMF into the trash for keeping his head inside his pants.

God forbid a search is performed.
