Should not cost you a dime. Besides, you were going to order it and then what? If you were going to take it to a shop, let them order it. It is probably in stock. I did auto glass in the past and most orders were a same day delivery. Now glass companies come right to the car. If you're in Ct call Giant Glass, 1 800 54 Giant or your insurance company will refer you ( kickback )

Ummmmm.....Can we find out? The phone call would of been quicker on your end than you typing us.

Relax, that shield isn't going anywhere. It's two pieces of glass with a plastic film in between. It's only cracked on the outside. Take your thumbnail and rub it over the crack and you'll see. Try it on the inside and it's a smooth as new. This is something you do not do on your own. I've seen your other posts and you tend to get into a bit of a jam on all you do. Not a bad thing and I'm not here to judge.

Windshields today are structual. They are glued in. They take the hit in a roll over to keep the roof from collapsing right away, they are what the air bag deflects off of to keep the air bag moving in a rearward motion.. In a frontal crash, the airbag on the passenger side actually inflates up and then out useing the shield as a deflector. They use a special adhesive that has to be heated and then it has a drying time before you drive away.

I've told customers to leave a window cracked (no pun) while the car is sitting so the adhesive can work. If you airtight the car, the heat will build up in the car and actually pop the shield loose. Just trying to relay that THIS is not a job you want to do yourself to save money.

Good luck

Chuck
