Front wipers high speed not working properly

The high speed on my 2007 Yaris sedan stopped working properly recently. Normal speed and intermittent still work properly.

When I put the stalk ok high speed I do get some feedback. The motor noise gets louder but the wipers are not going any faster.

I dismantled everything down to the motor itself and the linkage system is not jammed or hard to move. The motor is still misbehaving when working alone.

Motor shot or I should look at something else before replacing it?

It was the motor after all. Disassembled the unit and the big plastic gear had been eaten up by the endless screw. Now I understand why it's bad to forget the wipers on during winter.
