To you, maybe. To me, that sounds like some pat generalization -- what's actually happening with the job matters.

Agree. I see it as honorable that a company would for free take the time to perfect anything they see as not up to standards.

That could be true... It's ether that, or they don't know what they're doing. You bought one of the three manifolds that arrived on January 13th. It's been over 11 weeks since then.

Just sayin'.

When you talked to the finishers what did they say? Hey, if they can't deliver what you paid for, why not cancel the order and have them chemically remove the plating. Your chances of selling a plain manifold would be much greater.

He was quoted 8 weeks from the beginning. We are at 3+ weeks, and for good reason.

In fact, it's all good, and everyone is fine with it -- except for the guy trying to stir things up in here.

I puchased the manifold and then talked to jeff a while and they didnt start the process til after 2/1. They quoted me 8-10 weeks so we are right inside the timeframe I was advised.

I didn't know that the actual plating process itself takes 8 weeks to complete. It must be a really complex time consuming process. But if it takes weeks to get around to doing it because the plating company is busy filling other orders, wouldn't there would have been plenty of time to simply cancel an unstarted order?

That you're satisfied is all that matters.

I know nothing about what transpired and figured that there was lots of time to save money by cancelling an unfilled order. Even if there was a cancellation fee I believe that you would still be ahead.

This was such a custom 1 off piece that returns and cancellations aren't really a possibility nor would I do that to the finisher or MI. I prepurchased the unit and even after the finisher quote, asked jeff to send the unit off ASAP and get it started. With the manifold almost 100% done it would be so unfair of me to try and ask for a return or to try and cancel or reverse the finishing process. It is just one of those things I have to live with. Losing a small percentage and helping someone pick this up at a discount is well worth being able to make 2013 the year of the boost for me lol
