Well, you might have to stop for gas once. Will that be a problem? Nothing is for certain, but data show that the Yaris is most reliable small car out there. With so few miles on yours, I'd be amazed if anything bad happened. As with any car, just make sure everything's in good shape beforehand: oil, coolant, tires, air filters, brakes, etc.

Member zoidberg444 in the UK took his "shitbox" (his words) on a 5,000 mile trip through extreme northern Europe last year without problems, despite hitting a huge rock on the way, and his Yaris has the tiny 3-cylinder motor not sold here.

England to the Nordkapp and back in my Yaris

Member justanotherdrunk regularly takes long trips in his Yaris all over California and Nevada, mostly. His is brand new, but he drives it hard.

5th roadtrip

I just bought my Yaris late last year, an '09 with 174k miles, and I immediately took it on a 3,000 mile round trip to visit family in Oregon for the holidays. No problems there.

Esta's Adventures

My parents liked the Yaris so much, they asked me to find one for them. I did, an '07 with 119k miles, and I drove it up to them through some of the more remote parts of California. Again, no problems.

Mojave detour

What kinds of cars have you owned that left you so nervous to take such a short trip? You'll be real happy with the Yaris, I'm sure.

By the way, I think Manuel is a cute name for your car.

I ment manual transmission, I just traded in a 2001 grand Cherokee with 152k and that thing barely made it out of the city limits before radiator blew up, so im just hesitant just don't want to be left stranded. the car just had a complete go through at the dealership I bought it, so it needs nothing.

I know, just ribbing you on the typo.

Your Jeep was a 4.7L V8, right? That was an iffy motor at best. The 4.0 I6 you could get was actually really good, since it wasn't designed by Chrysler, but the V8's were junk.

You'll be real happy with your new Yaris.

I drive mine between 200-500 miles everyday, I think you'll be fine. I'd recommend sourcing a full size spare and making sure the serpentine belt is sound and oil level is where it should be.

Outside of normal stuff, these cars are hyper reliable
