New Oil Filter Housings

I am changing the oil on my daughters and her husbands cars now, late model RAV 4 and Tundra 5.7.

These vehicles have disposable elements housed in plastic containers for the oil filter. Very inconvient!

Do the latest Yaris models have these or do they retain the spin on filter?

Thanks!

The shield that is in the way is a royal pain to remove.

I didn't find it too bad getting it off on the Tundra but didn't put it back.

Problem solved!

Not a good idea to not reinstall the shield. It effects air flow.

It's just a skid plate has nothing to do with air flow, does not come on two wheel drive version so really the only problem you will have if you off road.

filter?

Thanks!
Yea, my wife has the 09 Rav4. What made it worse for the first 2 or 3 years, the auto parts stores did not stock these filters...none of them did. So I started ordering them in sets of 2 from Amazon and never went back to those stores. I guess they were afraid somebody might want to buy one.
