DIY: Braille Battery install

So you bought this fancy, weight reducing, yet powerful battery and now you wonder, how do you install it? Well, if you bought the battery with the mounting kit, then you're in luck. If not, then maybe you can get an idea from my DIY.

TOOLS:
- 10 mm wrench
- 4 mm allen
- 5 mm allen
- Phillips screw driver
- measuring tape
- bottle of beer (preferably New Castle or Blue Moon)

The Prelude:

This is under the assumption that you have bought the mount kit AND should already know how to assemble it. Now...grab that 10 mm wrench and take off the battery cables and the battery tie down doo-hickey

Grab the plastic battery tray and take a good look at the bottom plate

The holes that are identified are where the mounting screws are going to go through

The MAIN course:

There are two methods to this. If you have a good eye, you can drill the holes that correspond with the mounting points simply by looking at the bottom of the tray, as there are indention that you can use as markers.

The OTHER method involves getting your measuring tape. The FIRST hole measures at 4cm x 15cm. BUT MAKE SURE that the arrow of the battery tray is facing you as seen in the images.

The second hole measures roughly 9cm x 7cm.

Almost done:

The two holes should measure about 9.5cm from each other. You get the mounting base and two self tapping screws and attach the base to the battery tray.

Place the battery in the mounting plate

Attach the other washers and screws...

Once done, place the complete battery and all onto the bottom plate. The mounting screws should align with the identified holes. Attach the cables and viola! IF you want some extra security, you COULD attach some nuts to the underside of the bottom plate to secure the battery.

Once all is done, grab that bottle of beer and stare at the awe of your accomplishment. I hope this helps. I still don't have a fool-proof idea for the hood rod. But if I come up with something, y'all be the first to know.
