Hi guys! is there anyone that knows whats the max horsepower you can push reliably on the 1nzfe stock sleeves?
has anyone cracked a sleeve?

I don't think you need to worry about it.

Unless your gonna do something like me , Cali, Blown Xa, or someone in our arena.

But unless your gonna get over like 280hp you don't need to deal with it.

I am using stock sleeves and I hope for 14 psi they will hold well

But i think you had dynoed it at 16 psi 250 bhp parmas?

Its hard to answer that question. Years ago they said the Honda K series could only handle xxx amount of HP. Today I personally know of many K series making 600-700hp with stock sleeves on E85. So right now its anyone guess. As you can see from above Parmas has stock sleeves. But I dont remember how much HP he is making. I can tell you that most here who are turbocharged & with stock sleeves are making under 200hp with no issues. Both Garm & xB have sleeved blocks. But my best educated guess would be +/-250hp. Of course that would not be with the stock pistons & rods.

That was a long time ago with the previous management but that was only on the dyno. We decided to go 9psi until we solved the tuning issues. The problem was infact the ecu that do not match with the yaris engine and now I changed to Haltech management.

Due to new management I had to re-tune the engine and till now I am still 9psi. I never run a daily 16psi so I don't know if it will hold eventually for long time but I am thinking of uppping the boost slowly keeping an eye on the temp, pressure and AFR gauges.

Aren't honda engines from exactly the same material as ours? both are all aluminum and open deck i think?

The blocks are aluminum castings then machined.

cylinder block: aluminum with cast-in iron liners.
cylinder and crankshaft centers are offset to reduce piston slapping.

The combustion chambers in the scion engine employ a tapered (oblique) squish design, to improve thermal efficiency and reduce the chance of engine knock (pre-ignition). the squish area has been shaped obliquely along the wall surface of the combustion chamber, improving airflow, promoting swirl and speeding flame travel.
the combustion chambers are almost entirely machined, to ensure minimum variation in combustion chamber volume across the four cylinders. special attention has been paid to cooling the combustion chamber, including provision of a water jacket between the exhaust port and the spark plug boss, to lower the operating temperature at the exhaust valve seat and improve cooling performance.

Just looked up his info on Scionlife, 286hp to be exact. And from what I could find with stock sleeves.....

Yea I wouldnt worry about sleeving, the factory sleeves are plenty strong. I have about 30,000 miles on my built motor now, it has been reliable and there is no signs of abnormal cylinder wear ( I do leakdown test every 6 months). If sleeving isnt done properly then you will encounter issues, it's not worth the risk in my opinion .

I build most of the motors at Ptuning , I can tell you the factory sleeves are the same thickness as the tc block from looking at the motors torn down. We have taken that block past 600hp.
