Quick question: For rebadging, has anyone used "3M Plastic Emblem & Trim Adhesive", instead of the "3M Body Molding Tape" that seems to be used pretty often?

Thanks.

I used a hair dryer to warm them up and then used fishing line to remove. It took a little while to get the excess glue off of the car, but now it looks great.

hey guys
greetings from the other side of the pond
i recently debadged my yaris but now i changed my mind and want to put the badges back.
the thing is though that i dont know their exact position.
do you know where can i find it?

the guys in the dealership are ridiculous enough to admit that they dont know the exact position of the badges; they will just put them "where it looks ok"...
so, i dont want to starting wandering in the streets in search of another yaris, just to measure it, and having people thinking i m a weirdo, thief etc...

I would like to add a couple of steps to the painting process .

1. Add a few coats of clear to the newly painted badges .
2. After letting the paint dry/cure for a few days , apply a couple of coats of wax .

the instructions are unclear as to how to remove the front emblem , i try sticking my fingers under the grill for the tabs but im not sure what i am looking for as I dont find or feel anything.. can I just use a screwdriver and pry it out by force , if so, am i able to put it back on afterwards

can someone give me clear instructions on how to remove the front emblem, thanks

Great FREE Modification

Whoo! My first post at YarisWorld...

Anyways, I just did this mod the other day. Pretty easy and essentially free if you already have fishing line, WD-40, and ... the sun.

Looks much cleaner without the badges. Plus it will confuse people even more now. Here in Michigan, lots of people don't know what to make of this car. If it doesn't have a GM/FORD/CHRYSLER badge on it, they think it's a spaceship or something.

I've had multiple people approach me in parking lots and ask me what it is. Even with the badges still on it.

In any case, I think it's time well spent to do this. I just used the "sun method" (no hair dryer or heat gun), so the hardest part was getting the foam/tape stuff off because it wasn't super hot that day.

I just used Goo Gone to help loosen the adhesive. Took a while to get it all off using just my finger nails, but it was worth it.

It was actually my second mod.

First thing I did was get a K&N filter since the paper one that came with the car needed replacing anyways (since I got my Yaris used).

Hahaha, i read the damm post three time, before i went out side to remove the front and paint it black, but the rear, you say it will leave two holes? so does this mean that the badge is held together by 2 small clips? or is it held together by 2 clips (+) Plus 3M tape?? Dammit, im just thinking of masking everything around it, and sanding/paint the badge on the car, just dont want to mess up my OEM Paint.

Thanks on the Awsome Thread

BTW: Heres mine.
-Not to worry, my little truck is getting lowered this Upcoming week as well..!!

the two holes are actually just so the badge is straight. they dont clip in or anything. and its only on the center emblem.

the emblem has two little nubs that fit in the holes. its just for alignment. you wont have to fill anything in or do anything crazy .. just pop it off. you'll see what i mean.

LOL, not to sound dumb, but does it also have the sticky 3M tape on it, just like the Yaris, and Toyota Badge? so i would also have to use the heat gun to remove just like the other badges, right??

-Thanks so much for your responce, and patience.
