Changing from 155/80/R13 to 175/70/R13 on 2002 Vitz SCP10

Hey Guys. I have a 2002 Vitz SCP10 with the following:

Wheel: 13x5
Offset: 39
PCD: 4x100
Current Tyre: 155/80R13

I would like to upsize to slightly wider tyres (175/70/R13). Is this possible on the same wheels?
Dont really want to change to new wheels.

I see some of the other Toyotas are using this 175 tyre on what seems to be the exact same wheel.

Thanks for all the help.

Yes, you can use the 175/70/13 with no issues on your 13x5's. They're the same height and a 175 can fit on a 5" wide wheel no problem.

Just an upate on this incase anybody is ever interested.

I replaced just the front tyres with 175/70/13 's. The rear still has 155/80/13 's.

Have not replaced the rear yet as those tyres still have plenty of tread. Will get it done in the next 6 months.

Here in New Zealand vehicles have to pass a WOF (Warrent of Fitness). I was told by multiple people that the car will not pass its WOF if its running different size tyres front and rear. This was incorrect and it only applies per axel. Car passed it WOF with flying colours.

That aside. Just want to check if anybody else is running their cars with different size tyres front and rear? There dont seem to be any problems but was just wondering if it would affect ABS?
