broken ac compressor

For some reason my ac compressor decided to tear itself up when I was driving this afternoon. These are the only pieces I could find that fell off.

I am wondering since the pulley is fixed onto the compressor, if I could wait and fix it this summer.

Does anyone know if I will hurt anything else if I keep on driving it?

Another person had the same thing happen recently as well. The pulley is threaded, so you can thread it back on:

I was thinking about that but what does the metal piece with the fins do? It looks like the center sheared off.

I have never seen one apart, so I am not sure exactly what that is, but I would think that it is part of the clutch. If it is sheared, then you will need to replace the whole thing. The easiest thing to do until you do is to replace the belt with the one for a non-AC Yaris.

I would say yes, as you can't order the individual parts for it. And, if remember right from thebarber's thread, his is a great deal, especially considering that it is basically brand new (since most of those 20,000 km the original owner of it was waiting for me to figure out how to convert his A/C to the JDM digital version).
