need some guidance

Hey guys,

As you can see in my signature i've made some performance mods in the past month. I will be installing a short shifter from MI soon but that's it for this year.

Next spring I want to add a few other mods. I'm thinking the 1zz TB and intake manifold (if one can still be purchased?). I also want to pick up some rims (195 wide 15" diameter). Obviously neither is cheap other than the TB.

What my question is, what is the next best cost/performance mod I should do? I am interested in improving low end torque and keeping the gas mileage good and fun to drive. So far i'm impressed w/ the mods i've done.

Lightweight crank pulley.

Best mod for the money while keeping MPG and improving acceleration, removing weight(if that is something you're willing to do of course). I removed around 125lbs, first and second gear acceleration improved.
For the 1zz TB, you can do what Kou did here http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...+throttle+body It by no means replaces a proper intake manifold like MI or even tooter, but its budget and it definitely wont hurt performance either.

The lightweight pulley will be done before the intake mani for sure. I'm just wondering if the 1zz TB is worth it with the stock manifold? Its a realitvely cheap and easy mood to do so iif there is a bit of benefit w/ the stock manifold then i'll definitely do it.

Honestly as much as rims are mostly aesthetic i'm thinking i'll pick those up and do a manifold last. Now just to find a good place in canada for cheap rims...

I won't be able to shed anymore weight as I occasionally put people in the back seat so removing that wouldn't be practical for me. Maybe down the road but not for now

the 1zz tb is worth it. There is a noticeable improvement in throttle response. Ensure you do the chip swap and/or adjust the idle screw. Then have patience and allow the ecu to learn the new tb. Take a drive and enjoy the new throttle response.

What's the benefit of narrowing the intake hole?

Sadly, that is your only choice for 'cheap' in Canada.

That's what i was afraid of. I going to get a price quote I I winter from tire 23 which is place buddies have referred me to. If its crazy expensive then i'll get some shipped to my po box in the states.

Kijiji is tough because I want to go with a wider offset to get the wheels closer to the fenders

Price you want, offset you want, weight you want. Single drilled to boot! And in Mississauga.

Thanks for the link!

I was aiming to get gold rims, but depending on what new rims would cost I may have to scrounge for used. Anyone have any idea what 4 new 15" rims would sell for at 7" wide?

That's like asking 'What will it cost me to buy a car with 4 wheels and runs on gasoline?'
