3rd Gear grind

I just started to develop a 3rd gear grind. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this. Shifting from 2nd to 3rd, it will never be hard to get into gear, but on occasion there is a slight grind. Has anyone else experienced this? The other thing is does anyone know if having an intake on there will void the entire warranty?

I don't rough shift. Always make sure the clutch is all the way down when shift. It's driving me nuts. Even if i shift slow at a certain speed it will grind. The grinding sound is faint but still audible, but i can feel it through the shifter. It's like something is spinning in there

I hope your right PK. I'm dreading having to shell out money. I'm out of the bumper to bumper warranty. Just have the powertrain warranty, i know they will tryto figure out a way to suck money out of me

mine does the same downshifting from 2 to 3 sometimes, even with the clutch fully depressed and shifting sloowly, but only if i dont let the rpm drop. Fait but still there. Also, an intake will NOT void your entire warranty. If they KNOW that you installed an intake, it will void the stock airbox and intake system portion of the watrranty and nothing. This is straight from the mouth of my Toyota Dealer. Good Luck!

I'd check your clutch hydraulics. If the slave has a slight leak or the fluid is old or you've somehow gotten a little air in the system, the clutch may not be releasing properly. What you describe is one of the first symptoms.

75w-90 Mobil 1 synthetic If i remember right. It's a grind for sure, doesn't happen all the time. It definitely happens at high rpm all the time. Shift from 1st to 2nd is fine, sfifting 2nd to 3rd, pressing clutch all the way still grinds. I can't shift from 2nd to 3rd in one smooth motion at high rpm without a grind. Actually have to wait for a second or so.

Powertrain warranty should cover transmission problems.
