http://public.me.com/n9qgs under Toyota Maintenance I have my 109K report the Silicon issued has disappeared. Dry Ridge Toyota said the Oil pump uses silicon and as the system ages you will have pieces break off and spike oil readings, so it appears this held true as everything went back to normal. Ill do my next sample between 130K and 150K. Ron

A couple months back I got a TSB from Amsoil regarding silicon in various Toyota models and the Vibe. Enough that they recommend their EaO oil filters be changed at OEM intervals insread of the allowed 25000. If that oil pump was the cause in one csse stated earlier, the design might have commenalities.
