anyone know what happened to these?...

I happened to come across some posts about a Holdener intake manifold. Does anyone know what happened to these? Were they ever built and sold?

Contact Cali Yaris. He can answer that or knows more about it.

My understanding is that the shop that was going to fabricate them pulled out due to limited market demand, and possibly the housing/automotive crash of 08/09.

We're on our second prototype at this point. The next one will be good enough to test with a car on the dyno. If it doesn't make provable power, it's not worth pursuing.

Hey Garm,

Now you got me curious...
Is your intake designed with longer runners for low to mid range improvement, or is it going to be for high rpm gain? And will it be a Yaris bolt on, or will it need to be modified like the Weapon R intake?

Yaris-compatible, 100% bolt on, both long and short runner versions. If it throws CEL's, we'll tell you. If it doesn't make power, we'll tell you.

I want to know as much as anyone else. Enough to pay for back to back dynos and quite a bit of R&D.

Paperweights, anyone?

Correct, Golden Eagle is a great fabricator. Just like the manifold on my own car, which is proven, anything I have made will come from me. My customers know that. Nice try though.

So atleast tell the truth about the stuff your testing. You had nothing to do with the process. You are the gueni-pig from where we left off with G.E

Sorry people you gotta know the truth.
I understand and it doesn't hurt, Muscle.

Am I the only one that has noticed that the more agitated XBG gets, the worse his spelling gets? I.e. your vs you're, ladder vs latter, mabey, equiptment, etc.

Personal pet peeves aside, I have looked into the math involved in designing an intake manifold (google Helmholtz resonator). I'm assuming that Garm has at least done rudimentary calculations to get a base runner length, and wouldn't be surprised to find out that he's had some CFD modeling done to verify flow rates. The hard part here isn't calculating the length or shape of the runners, it's making it fit into a confined space. The OEM intake manifold is very well designed in this regard.

As far as credit for designs go, that's pretty tough to prove unless it's a blatant copy. The interface with the head and throttle body are fixed, the confinement dimensions are fixed, and the diameter/length/volume of the runners are all going to be based on some calculations and/or availability of materials. That said, it would be nice if he could give credit for portions of the design that came from someone else.

Question: If you've been such a big part of the Yaris community, why do you only have 29 posts and a join date of this month? The reason most of us support Garm is because of 5 years more in the community, and over 1200 posts, not to mention superb customer service. I'd rather deal with him and Jeff than someone who gets huffy over whether or not a product was his original design.

Which you just admitted came from Golden Eagle, which were my designs.
Which you were selling until two weeks ago ("available" on your FB page), and are now trying to steer people away from. You forgot to mention that detail. Don't worry, I'm not making that one.

I have publicly committed to transparency, including whether our design makes power, throws CEL's etc. I won't release design or source data in the R&D phase, but I will if the product proves worthy.

Garm has been saying since he first announced these that he is working with Golden Eagle. Not sure where the big shocker moment is supposed to come in?

He also backs up all of his products 100%. I don't see where the problem is.

Great products, great support, at great pricing.

Because he's been banned repetitively from not only here but many other forums as well and he keeps coming back with different user names.

I am sure he is approaching a record for number of times banned from the same forum/site as well as times banned overall.

And I also agree with the space issues and location of where things need to lie in order to work.

The internal design is where I was finding most of my issues along with the basic square that G/E was using.

Take a look at my ITB's, that was design work with over 4 months of testing and than having a casting made.

With the new intake manifold I'm working on now it may end up to be a casting for cost purposes and or design issues for the plenum.

I just wanted you all to know that MI had nothing to do with the initial designs of that manifold from G/E. Since Garm is all about give credit where credit is do.

I don't want to get into pissing matches over this so at this point, lets just see what transpires from the industry with a new intake manifold weather it be from MI or me.

I want to help people out and keep things positive at this point. i don't want people to see two people going back and fourth like to school girls over he said she said.

Ok, i've said what I neede to say. Lets keep rolling forward.

I was the first person to put full standalone ECU on a 1nz-fe in 2004 and help DC Sports develop some of the first mods even made for the 1nz-fe. It's not so much a Yaris thing for me but rather a 1nz-fe thing. There are quite a few people who like what I do and there are a handfull that don't. But I'd say my facebook numbers speak volume. 13,800 likes and followers so I think I must be doing something right. I'm not going to let a few people spoil things for everyone else anymore. So if a conversation goes south I simply walk away now. And move on to something else. We have alot of A-type personalities here so it's to be expected from time to time that there will be conflicts. But I'm now trying to focus on the masses and turn the cheek when things get out of hand.
