crank grinding
little off topic
when you watch the videos of crankshaft grinding they usually just show the main journals being ground. I couldnt find one where the piston journals were being turned. Are the piston journals usually stay in decent shape so they dont have to be ground?? I mean if the rod bearings take all the abuse...Are they as critical as the main journals?? |

Happy? Yes the connecting rod journals need to be ground, and are as important (in not more so). If you over-rev an engine unloaded it is typically the conn rod bearings that will spin. Cheers. |

Not unusual for the mains to be fine and just the rods needing attention.
