Rear wiper blade
I have to replace mine every 3 months due to dry rot..They get hard from the heat and sun..After a month I flip it in the other direction which will make it last til about 3 months..Anybody else having this problem?

I use my rear wiper regularly. My car is an 07 with 42K miles and I live in Florida... and I still have the original wipers (front and rear) in perfect working condition.

Hmmm 2 southern state 2008 owners have problems.
2 non-southern state 2008 owners don't. What does the empirical data tell us? |

I've no problems either. I have ordered a spare blade and it did look kinda oldish still unopened in the bag.
Perhaps these are stored poorly in the warehouse? Or are old overstock from Japan that's been dumped on the USDM? Just some ideas.....

3 years in tropical sun and heavy rain on the original blades, sure, they could stand to be replaced, but no hardening or rot of any kind to report :)

Toyota Canada offer wiper blade refills dirt cheap. They take max. 5 minutes to remove the blade, replace the rubber and re-install the blade.
I'm sure if we buy them dirt cheap Toyota USA will be giving them away for next to nothing. Certainly with a call.

My point being is the OEM are junk and dont last long..MY Tacoma sits in the same spot all the time I drive it about 4k miles a year the aftermarket blades are 1.5 years old and in great shape..On my Yaris the front aftermarket blades are fine the back OEM blade last about 3 months and is trashed.

For whatever reason, many of the the rear blades are junk.
How may complaints have we all seen about how the stock rear blade chatters? I know mine did until I replaced it with a "Trico" I suspect that the rear blades are made by a differet vendor than the fronts |

Now that I think about it, my rear wiper blade does chatter at times, but that is usually
if there is very little moisture back there. I guess I had better take a look at it. |

I got a "Trico Exact Fit 12-A".
It's a replacement rear wiper for the Yaris HB that maintains the stock look and costs about $13.00. "12-A" is the stock # for the Yaris. Google "Trico Exact Fit 12-A" The Trico blade ends all chatter. I will run it for the summer and will replace it with the stock wiper this winter. to save wear and tear on it. |

trico exact fit blade
I replaced my rear blade with the Trico exact fit as recommended and it was a perfect easy swap. One issue now...the far end of the blade does not make good contact with the rear glass. Maybe just needs to break in a bit? It wipes fine except for the outer couple of inches and I don't see any way to "adjust" it. Anyone else have a similar experience?

I buy the whole blade at a web dealer for about $8. Aftermarket wipers never seem to fit right....
