How do I remove wax from plastics?

Just as stated: How do I remove wax residue that got onto plastic trim parts while I was polishing? I use Liquid Glass which is a polish, not a wax. Thanks.

Okay, This is a common problem.
What I do before I wax or polish my vehicles is mask all plastic trim,
rubber etc.
That way when I'm finished removing the wax or polish I have no issues.
For the question at hand,you can try wax and grease remover,laquer
thinner,or prep solvent.One of the three will work for you.

I've tried the eraser. It works, but that was on wax. Not sure about polish.

I have/had this same problem (very long story how the polish got on my trim, but it wasn't done by me). Anyway, the body shop/detailer that I take my car to says that the best and safest way to remove polish or wax from trim is to use some type of trim dressing. The shop owner told me that over time, the use of these products will cause the polish or wax to "float up" from the trim and come off. Over time, with each time you dress the trim, more and more of the polish will disappear. I can confirm that this has worked on my car, as the polish stains are much, much lighter than they were in the past. Unfortunately, polish permanently stains the trim, but it can be lessened so that it is barely noticible anymore. So, it's an easy solution, but not a quick one, since it will take multiple applications. Just dress the trim every time you wax your car from now on. The owner told me that any brand will do the trick, but he uses this dressing:

detailing spray seems to work good. It's like 5-10 at autozone.

Your Point?,How do we know he tried any of our suggestions?
My suggestions have worked for myself in the past.
Masking off all plastic and rubber areas so we have no issues,
is the best way too go about this,however I have ALSO painted
plastic parts in the past due to previous owners carelessness.

Well, he asked how to get it off, not prevention of the problem.. so i said spray some la's totally awesome on it... which costs a dollar at any dollar general store, and contains no harmful chemicals...

I was just giving my thoughts on it. He said he'd gotten some on his plastic, and that's my way of getting it off. haha. My point was that I don't know what point you're making. You said the instructions say he's not supposed to wax plastics, but i don't think he did it on purpose (why would he?). Yep. I'm not arguing your suggestions, they look fine to me, not even arguing that you shouldn't mask off plastics. . . haha.

I didnt realize that it wouldnt come off trim ! The only other car I would wax (my z28) has no plastic trim! I don't mind repainting the plastics with Krylon, but would rather something to get it off first. I havent tried anything yet since I was rewiring a new stereo into the camaro lately.

pretty good! I might need to reposition the sub or build a new box though. a LOT better than it did I must add though. i think I might be spoiled after having great HT gear however...

I used spit and it started coming off. i have to rehydrate after a good weekend bender so i can summon enough to clean all the plastics :D

I think painting the affected area is a better option than trying to remove it.
